Spike, I confused, you said to insulate the toons but bond the motor to the toons - how? If the toons are insulated (hard nylon spacers) and the motor is mounted to the steel frame of the boat (not the toons) do I then run earth straps between the frame and the toons?

Common earth isn't a problem, I'll run earth wires to every appliance/light etc and not earth the frame but the motor uses a frame earth for the alt & trim - can't avoid that.

As I said - I'm getting conflicting ideas.
