I redid a 16' Lund this past winter. I used fiberglass resin on all the wood. I think that if I would do a project like this again, I'd just apply 3 or more coat of spar varnish. My reason is that I believe the varnish would penetrate the wood better than the resin. The resin, if more than one coat is used, will add to the thickness of the wood. Nothing to worry about but having something that penetrates the wood, in my opinion, would be a better sealer.
