I answered some of your questions on the other board. The anticavitation plate as some call it Some prefer to call it antiventilation plate. It is the thin plate just above the prop. The motor should be raised to the point just before ventilation becomes a problem. You can do this by simply adding a 1/4 inch stick one at a time on the top of the transom until the ideal height is reached.Of course you can change to one stick when you are satisfied. The porpoising on your other boat may have been helped by this. The motor angle adjustment called "trim" would help as well.Sometimes a transom is not angled back enough so you have to put a wedge between the clamp and the outside of the transom so it creates more of an angle.Sometimes you can by them or make them from hardwood. As far as driving left handed you should really give it a try.In the long run you will be much more comfortable and the boat will be easier to handle. If you must drive right handed you could add a board between the stern seat and the middle seat so you can get farther from the motor by sliding forward. This may help the boat plane easier as well.If you had a nice wide boat it would help too. But the way to go is left handed.Try it when no boats are around like early in the morning so you won`t feel like a fool.
