the reason i recommend a float switch is frequent some large bodies of water here in florida. most of them are an average of 10 feet deep 4 or5 miles wide and 15 miles long. this tends to get rough very quickly 2-4 ft.waves, but the fish start biting, occasionaly i take water over the stearn when i have a double or triple on. no time to hunt the switch.
