I just got a 10' jon boat for free. It has multiple rivet holes (80+), and I think it's about 30+ years old. LAst sticker I peeled off said "FL 1978", and there was about 4 under it...anywho, I drilled out the old rivets, and put new rivets in, then put copious amounts of 3M 5200 on the bottom of the boat, covering the rivets, and on the inside, also covering the rivets. I was planning on putting spray in bed liner (rattle can) over this. Do I wait the standard week for the 5200 to dry, or can I shoot it, and wait 4 more days for the 5200 to cure, then shoot it? AM I just wasting my time? Should I jsut scrap it and buy a new one? I only intend on using it in shallow, smooth water (swamps), about 1 to 5 times a year. It's for duck hunting only. Thanks for any help...
