There is only one way to properly re-carpet a boat; remove all old carpeting,scrap off excess glue etc., and cut carpet for each area very carefully (slightly larger) then, trim off excess with a brand new razor. I apply carpeting using contact cement and galvanized carpet staples. My company has been customizing boats including custom carpet,new floors, paint, interior redesign,etc. for over 20 years. Marine grade carpeting when purchased at the right place is very inexpensive.
