Are you under way when the bow is up? If so there should be an adjustment rod on the motor located in the vicinity of the tilt mechanism. You should adjust it so the motor is perpendicular to the water when you are at full speed. If it's just when you're sitting still why not move to the center of the boat? If you're trolling, they sell tiller extensions that will reach the center seat. They just clamp to the tiller and are inexpensive. Good luck.
