INHO bearing buddies are not necessary. Adding grease to a hub should not be needed between repacks unless the hub is losing grease through the rear seal. And if that's the case the seal should be changed rather than just adding grease through a zirc fitting. A bad seal is also what allows the grease to become contaiminated so just "topping up" with a bearing buddy can actually do more harm than good. One last thing, if your hubs are warm to the touch (they will be after a fair drive), allow them to cool a bit before backing down the ramp. The time it takes to undo the tie downs and tilt the motor is usually enough. Otherwise a hot hub hitting cold water can actually cause water to be drawn into the hub. Hope this helps.
