The bottom part of your motor which has the water inlets needs to be submerged in order to determine if your water pump/impeller is working. If you connected a water whose with muffs covering the water inlets, then water should come out of the pee hole. Do not run your motor if water does not come out of the pee hole as you may ruin your motor.(will overheat causing damage to your powerhead)If water does not flow then determine the reason ( blocked water tube, impeller vanes broken, etc.)
