Bought this motor and during first test realized reverse wouldn't engage. To fully engage reverse the cable position had to be at the very back of the slide the cable rides and forward at the front tip of the slide.( not enough cable adjustment for that). Pulled the lower-unit and adjusted the shift shaft coupling a spline or two, then the shift points moved closer together on the slide. How to get it on the exact, correct spline? Think the shift points will come closer into cable adjustment range? Right now it's either reverse & Neutral or Forward and Neutral; Never all three> Help.
Thanks. Please reply, I'm desperate.
