Hello, I have a 1957 Evinrude 7.5 Model 7522 ser.06564. I learned through my local dealer this is one of two years where there is a fuel pump in the fuel tank.(vaccum drivin diaphram pump) So needless to say all other tanks but the one this came with are useless. I hooked a diaphram pump from a garden tractor and made my own setup. One problem... I can keep the glass seperator on the bottom of the carb filled with fuel but not the carburator bowl. It consistantly runs itself out of fuel. I prime the bulb a few times and I can hear air escaping (through the ports inside the carb) as the bowls fills. Pull it once, it fires until it runs out of fuel. The carb has been cleaned, float height set, float/needle valve operational. Thanks for looking!!
