Check the fuel pump diaphragm for tears/leak. This could dump a lot of fuel into the motor.

You probably need to go thru and check the carb floats, replace the float needles and seats, and re-set the float height.

There are upgraded white plastic replacement floats which are better than the old black or orange ones.

The rubber float needle seats in the carbs get dried up/worn out and leak. Best to replace them since you're having troubles.
