Disassemble the unit.When you remove the pinion gear the larger roller bearings are loose and will want to fall out.Remove them.Examine all parts closly.If the clutch dog was slipping,are the engagement ears of the gears rounded off as well?They should be square and sharp.There are 2 seals which should be replaced.One under the waterpump wear plate and the other behind the prop on the shaft.Also replace the o ring on the gearcase end cap.There is a groove between the halfs of the gearcase which requires a seal which is referred to as "spagetti" for obvious reasons.Seal the gearcase with "Sealer 1000" or equivelent from the OMC dealer.Also replace the pivot pin and drain and fill gaskets.If you need part#s,send me the model # of your motor and I will provide them.Ken
