I have an early '80's vintage 50 h.p. Evinrude. Several days ago, I mistakenly started the motor without having opened up the air vent on the portable gas tank. It started right up, but after about a minute or so, while it was idling, it stopped, and I have not been able to restart it since after doing the following:
1.replaced plugs (which were only about 6 weeks old)
2.replaced fuel hose (from gas tank to motor)--- the "old one", which was new this summer, seemed to have a problem with the rubber bulb pump, which seemed to be "blocked".
3. sprayed starting fluid into both carbs as well as removing plugs and doing same in those areas.
Motor turns over but has not seemed to get a spark. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks much.
