I realize your motor may have some sentimental value but I sure wouldn`t put any more money into it.It was a comprimise motor at best and a 56 7.5 Evinrude or Johnson will run circles around your motor and routine maintenance parts are readily available at your local Napa auto parts.Some NAPA branches don`t know about their 600+ page marine products catalog.But even a good Evinrude/Johnson dealer can get parts for these old E/J motors.Save your dads old motor for display in the game room or on the wall in the shop.
