I have a 14' StarCraft Seafarer that I am remodeling. I will be using a transom mounted trolling motor (30#)--clamp-on.

I'd like to situate the 12V in the bow to balance the weight, but not being very electrically inclined, I'm wondering the best way to extend the wiring to do so.

Should I just splice in some #6 wire and attach clips to it to extend the factory wiring to the bow? Should I run leads from the battery to the transom (if so, how to I connect the motor leads)? Or is there some other way?

I'd like to keep the wires between the motor and battery in a chase so they are out of the way.

Thanks in advance.
