Sears, Ted Williams branded motors were only made by two companies. Early 1967 I think to 69 they were made by McColluch, the later ones, until Sears changed the name to Game fisher were made by ESKA. These are generally the green and white motors and are air cooled. The ID number should be on a plate on the transom clamp or the base of the twist handle. Eska/Techumseh will begin 217-xxxxx, McCulloch should begin 574-xxxxx.

If its a Techumseh powerhead the gas:oil mix is 24:1.
50:1 is not enough lubrication and it will slowly but surely overheat. Also be sure that water is coming from the exhaust ports. Even though it is an air cooled engine, there is a water pump that helps force out exhaust gasses and keeps the top part of the leg cool.
Hope this helps.
