I would change the oil again and give it more running time. If it still sounds good after that, I wouldn't worry so much about it. After all it wasn't salt water. It's more likely that you may have problems with some of the electronics than the engine internals themselves, but only time will tell on that.

You do need to get the motor nice and toasty by running it at a good clip for an extended period of time. This'll help 'bake out' the electrical system.

Likely this is a dlr telling you that the motor is about to go gunnysack and they're wanting to sell you a new motor.
