Most Elgins I've seen go in the range of $25-75, with more money going to the ones in exceptional condition.

IMO they're worth more on the back of the boat than the paper they generated to go in your wallet.

Contrary to Mr. Farnsworth's experiences, Elgins have a reputation as a simple, robust, long-lived motor.

The later ones, the low-profile ones made by Scott, had a lot of cowl breakage problems, plus were difficult to service due the low profile nature.
