You can, but there's a down side. The move will require longer battery cables (expensive), but most importantly, the additional length will add resistance which will drop cranking amps (and possibly add in some heat). It should work if you have a large capacity battery, your motor does not require a lot of cranking, and you don't have to start it in sub-freezing temps.
