I need to replace the impeller on my '56 Johnson AD-10, 7 1/2 horse motor. THe powerhead must be removed to disconect the shift lever before the gear case can be removed. The repair manual shows 7 bolts holding the powerhead down, which I promptly removed. However, this powerhead has never been removed from the rest of the motor and, it will not budge. It appears to be "cemented" to the gasket, probably with the original 50 year old gasket sealer. Does anyone know of any proceedure or tricks that I can use to remove the powerhead without causing any physical or cosmetic damage to the motor. Thanks.
