My very first outboard was a 5hp Eska a couple of model years earlier than yours. As a broke college student, I was constantly taking apart the Eska carburator to keep the thing running. The float would stick, causing a fuel gusher such as you describe. Carb kit is advised per the previous post, though I used to just tinker with the float, blow out all the rust chips (from the integral fuel tank), reassemble, and carry on. It is just a way of life with the old Eskas.
