Your motor is a 1954 15 hp.I concur with the diagnosis of the previous responder in that the clutch dog is shot. Not sure how familiar you are with this job.To remove the lower unit, remove the small oval inspection cover from the side of the exhaust housing.Disconnect the shift linkage(top bolt)Then remove the bolts which hold the lower unit to the exhaust housing.Drain the gear oil.Remove the water pump housing.Heat the housing if necessary to loosen the pump screws.Pull the pump housing, impeller and wear pate.Pull drive shaft.Invert unit and remove screws which hold the skeg on.Examine all parts for wear.Send me an email when you get to this point and I may be able to help with parts and manual.
