No, no, no! On two cylinder engines one wire of the kill switch goes to each set of points. There is no ground connection to the switch. At any given time one set of points or the other is always closed. So if you connect the two sets of points to a common wire neither coil will see the points ever open and the engine will not run.

This is the way the kill switch works. One wire to one set of points; the other wire to the other side of the points. The switch should be the type that is open to run. Closed switch grounds one set of points through the other to kill the engine.
