I took the engine appart and I found that the two hex head screws that hold the connecting rod on (and hold the bearings in place) were too tight. I loosened them up and then tightened them back down. The motor turned by hand. I put it back together and it started and then suddenly stopped. It was again hard to pull. I pulled the carb off and again the screws on the connecting rod were really tight. Again I loonened them again...put it back together and it started and quit on me. It is now too tight to pull.
