Generally speaking you cannot replace just the bottom half of the lower unit housing. These are bolted together and machined as one so the bores all line up. The lower half of another gearcase most likely will not be exact on the bores with your case.
That being said I can probaly come up with a complete housing but... you may not want to do that either. The 75 hp Johnson/Evinrude lower unit will bolt right on and is a much sleeker and efficient lower unit. These are also much more common.
The V4 50 hp was a very gas thirsty engine to begin with. If you choose to run it, the lower unit upgrade is a good move. Another very good move is to replace the carb and intake manifold with the later 60 hp parts. These not only give you 10 more horsepower but better fuel economy and overall performance.
