Just normal metric hand tools. You'll need to disconnect the linkage to the shifter shaft, in addition to removing all the bolts holding the lower unit on. Be aware that on most motors there is a 'blind' bolt under the trim tab (zinc).

Use some waterproof grease on all bolts when you reinstall the lower unit. Also the water tube where it engages the pump. Be sure to put grease on the driveshaft splines but not on the top of the driveshaft. Use a bit of grease to lube up the impeller and pump cartridge as you install the impeller; btw rotate the shaft clockwise as the impeller is inserted into the water pump body. If your motor has an o-ring to seal the driveshaft splines where they engage the crank, be sure to replace it. Very Important cheap little part!!!

And, it would help to get a repair manual for this motor, you'll find very good info which will help you on your lower unit job and any other maintenance you tackle. I believe Seloc makes one for your motor, try eBay, or your dlr.
