Thanks Spike! yep they sure did for 40yrs...in fact i don't think they EVER took motor off! it's got an obvious 5" extension for sure...with boat on trailer skeg touchs the ground with motor down... i live near H. Chalk &sons...maybe they might have driveshaft laying around...i'll check.
i've got parts & service manuals..for a 62 & 64 28hp......can you tell by serial# in my 1st post which year mine is?
