I have several old engines I like to play with on a light runabout, and I NEVER go out w/o my old OMC 2horse "power paddle" (also fwd-only; turn it 180 for rev.) - it's brought me home MANY times when my new pride & joy got recalcitrant, several times pushing a +2000# cruiser!
