Came back to the engine etc after a week (its in my Dads Garage) and the Leg had fallen off !. So it was just the gasket etc holding it. There's very little if any back-lash in the drive spline. What I can see of the bottom piston through the exhaust port looks ok. The reeds seem stiff ?. The slop in the top bearing is not as bad as I'd thought, however I've discovered that the Cam has a crack in it all the way through, right down the edge of the keyway !. So I wont be trying to run it like this. I am taking the head for a professional opinion to see where to go from here. Thanks to all.
