i do conversions by changing the reed valves to boyesen reeds and pick up a few miles per hour. I have a 87 model 9.9 that i changed the reeds out and it pick up 5 mph on a gps. the reeds cost 27.95 plus the gaskets which are about 10.00. Its easy to do yourself and comes with instructions.
