gamefisher 1.2 hp lower unit oil

I own a 1.2 gamefisher 1988 "tanaka" has anybody ever taken out the gear case cover off the gear case housing it has 2 bolts,Reason is i am not sure I am filling the lower unit all the way up it has one hole "very small at that " to fill and drain unlike the other motors with 2 hole were you actually see the oil pouring out.i drained it once thouht i had enough oil ran in the a tub for 5 minutes and it's been draining for 2 day's and there hardly any oil draing thanks
