Shaun, I don't want to sound pessimistic, but your looking for future problems with the OMC. Take it from one boat owner here who has had problems with the upper AND lower in our 1990 OMC. It needs alot of tender loving care by qualified mechanics when winterizing, and if you do have upper/lower unit problems, the cost is just outrageous. Go with a merc. I wish we had. Dennis
