35hp Johnson

A friend traded me an old 35hp Johnson motor which apears to be in great shape. Serial # is 1966503 and the model # is RD5-21B. Can anyone tell me the year the motor was made. Also, I have the mechanical controls, but am searching for the electronic controls, the ones that plug into the motor. Anyone have one of those?-gb-
