55' 5HP Sea King Model GG9001A, Carburetor questions.[ Ol' Paw's Boat Motor Bulletin Board ] [ Ol' Paw's Fishing Page ] Posted by John Dietz (152.163.252.1) on January 13, 2004 at 17:44:14: I got engine running but have gas leakage from carburetor float bowl cover. I have been told that the float bowl cover does not have a gasket, is this true? It does not seem correct. I was given this motor and do not have a manual. I have replaced packing on the mixture and fuel shut off valves, as they were leaking when I first got the engine started. I have also used valve lapping compound on the float seat, and painted the old cork float with "hot fuel-proof" model airplane dope. Is a carburetor kit available for this motor? Thanks for any help. |
