: Hi - we are sorting some things that belonged to my wife's grandfather and have some all brass Pfleuger fishing reels that must date from the 1910's and 1920's. All in perfect condition with brass gears. Are these collectable or should we just toss 'em? Any ideas on where we could get valuations on these?? Thanks :)

I've had a post on this forum looking for old Pflueger reels. Mostly I'm looking for the big salt water models. Pay close attention to the model numbers because the names were reused on a number of different sized reels. As always with old reels, value is based on 3 things condition, condition, condition. One of the reasons I collect is that I am primarily interested in broken or poor condition reels & find that these are often quite inexpensive. Mostly I'm interested in the design & construction of Pflueger reels, not concerned about values, I enjoy making one good working reel out of several broken ones. Please let me know what your Grandfather saved.
