The 63L is a "left handed" equivalent of the 63R.

I am right-handed and own a 63R. I would almost rather have a 63L, as all of my other spinning reels crank with the left hand - although some are reversable.

got mine when I was 15. Am 42 now. I'd say 25-30 years.

I still use mine every time I fish, recently every other week. Fishing buddies make fun of it cause they don't understand it. Caught a 4 1/2 lb channel cat with it last Fri.

I really like the "semi-open-faced" deal, it casts like a spinner but is a lot less likely to tangle. Kind of a Zebco 606 on steroids.

Haven't seen one for sale in 25 years. I would give $20 to have another one. Maybe more if in good working order.
